Stay Alert for Fraudulent Activity!
Dear Valued Customer,
We are reaching out to inform you about an increase in fraudulent activity involving debit cards and mobile wallets. We want to make sure you are aware and know how to take steps to protect your account.
What You Can Do to Stay Safe:
Review Your Transactions Regularly: Check your account activity for any unfamiliar or unauthorized charges.
Update Your PIN and Account Passwords: If you haven't already, now is a good time to update your account PINs and passwords to something strong and unique.
Enable Two-Factor Authentication: Wherever possible, enable multi-factor authentication on your accounts and mobile wallet apps for added security.
Be Cautious of Phishing Scams: Fraudsters may try to trick you into giving away your personal information through phone calls, emails, or text messages. Always verify the source before clicking on links or providing any information.
What We Are Doing to Protect You:
We are actively monitoring accounts for unusual activity and taking all necessary steps to safeguard your information.
For information on ID Theft and Fraud please visit www.ftc.gov (Federal Trade Commission) where you will find more information on what you can do to protect yourself in the event you believe you may have become a victim of ID Theft.
Red Flags to Watch For If You Are a Fahey Bank Customer:
- Our Fraud Department phone calls begin as an automated system, a live person is not involved until you have signified that a transaction is not legitimate or initiated by you.
- Our Fraud Department does not ask for the following information:
- Card Number
- Date of Birth
- Account Number
- PIN
- Social Security Number or Tax ID Number
- Our Fraud Department DOES give a case number
- Our Fraud Department will review transaction activity on your account with you
- Our Fraud Department does NOT send a verification code to email or text
- Our Fraud Department DOES advise you to contact the bank
If you have NOT signed up for Mobile Digital Wallet through Fahey Bank and you receive a text message notification of a Digital Wallet acceptance or a letter in the mail, please contact us immediately. This is a sign of ID Theft.
Keep in mind, that phone caller ID can be spoofed, just because it shows your banks phone number does not prove the call is coming from your bank.
If you notice any suspicious activity or have concerns about your account, please contact us immediately at 740-382-8231 or [email protected]. We are here to assist you.
If it is after hours and you have our iBanking App (Mobile Banking) you can deactivate your debit card using the “Guard My Card” feature. (Deactivating your debit card will also deactivate the Mobile Wallet).
Thank you for your attention to this matter and for being a valued customer.
